 We Believe.....

. . .the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21)

. . . there is one God (Deut. 6:4), eternally existent in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30)

. . .  the human race came into existence by divine design and creation as described in Genesis 1.  This also includes believing the literal 6 day creation of all things as described in Genesis 1.

. . . in the deity of Christ (John 10:33), His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:35), His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15, Hebrews 7:26), His miracles (John 2:11), His substitutionary  and atoning death (1 Corinthians 15:3, Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 2:9), His resurrection (John 11:25, 1 Corinthians 15:4), His ascension to the right hand of God (Mark 16:19), His personal return in power and glory (Acts 1:11, Revelation 19:11), to judge the living and the dead (2 Tim 4:1).

. . . in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature; and that we are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ and that only by God’s grace and through faith alone we are saved when we believe and repent of our sins. (John 3:16–19, John 5:24, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:8–9, Ephesians 2:8–10, Titus 3:5, Acts 3:19)

. . . in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost.  The believers to everlasting life in the presence of God (1 Thes. 4:16-17), and the unbelievers to everlasting punishment and separation from God (Rev. 20:11-15; John 5:28–29)

. . . in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:9, 1 Cor. 12:12–13, Galatians 3:26–28)

. . .the Holy Spirit is given to every believer at the time of Believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior ( 1 Cor. 3:16; 1 Cor. 12:7).  The Holy Spirit is given to convict of sin, to teach and instruct (John 16:7-13; Rom. 8:26; Luke 12:12) as well as to enable and empower the believer to live a godly life (Romans 8:13–14; Eph. 1:19).  It is the believers choice to be filled and empowered for holy living, and then to live in the power of the Holy Spirit (Eph. 5:18).

. . .that gifts of the spirit are given to believers for the benefit of the body of Christ (all believers), these gifts are: prophesying, serving, teaching, encouraging, giving, leadership, showing mercy, wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miraculous power, discerning of spirits, tongues, interpreting of tongues, evangelists, pastors (Romans 12:6-8, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, Ephesians 4:11).  Not all believers have the same gifts.

. . . that the fruit of a life that belongs to God and has the Holy Spirit are: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control.  These should be seen in an ever increasing measure in the believers life, as the acts of the sinful nature decrease in the believers life (Gal. 5:16-25; Rom. 6).

. . .in the ordinances of the church: Holy Communion for believers in right relationship with God(1 Cor. 11:23-29 and Water Baptism by immersion (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:1-4).

VISION

My name is Dallas Block, president of Rock Solid Refuge which is endeavoring to bring God's help and victory into the lives of teen boys struggling with life controlling issues.

We at Rock Solid Refuge believe that Jesus Christ is God's only provision for salvation, and therefore Christ is the foundation and is central to everything we do.  We believe that the Bible is not just a good book about good morals and good principles to live by, but that it is God's revelation of Himself, His Character, our lost state without Christ, and our need to be saved from the deserved consequences of our sins, which God gives freely to all who will repent and believe in Christ as Lord and Savior.

Because we believe all of that, we have come to believe that God has called us to establish a year long, year around program for teen boys struggling with life controlling issues.  They need this gospel (good news) taught to them to experience forgiveness of sins, and true freedom and power to overcome sin.  We presently rent Simmie Lutheran Bible Camp for a 14 week summer program.  This facility is not where we will establish our year around program.  We hope to purchase land this summer, and in the summer of 2010 to begin to build our new facility.  When we finish the essential parts of the new facility (housing, and schooling areas), we hope to have what ever campers would like to, to stay with us in the fall for a full year, taking in new students as we have beds available and adequate staff hired.  We believe that Teen Challenge is doing this well, and are seeking to model much of what we do after them.  As there is no Teen Challenge for adolescents here in Canada, we have gone to the United States to get help with establishing our long term program.  We believe that methods are important, but our methods in and of themselves fall short without the power of God.  This is why we are looking to others that are well established that have this same focus, to help us establish our long term program.

God Bless

Dallas Block
